Manufacturing Engineer (Initiating Systems) - Australia

Are you an experienced Systems Technologist with a background in Blasting Initiating Systems?
International company with operations in Australia is seeking a suitably qualified individual to join their team!

Your main function will be the design, development, maintenance and manufacture of blasting initiating systems for use in the mining industry.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Supporting the Initiating Systems Manufacturing throughout Australia and Asia.
Supporting manufacturing teams in processes.
Development of new products and processes.
Transfer existing processes from other operations.
Safety audits on improvement programs.
Mentor and develop the technology awareness knowledge of the specific Initiating Systems manufacturing technology.
Support junior or less experienced staff.
Interaction with operational customers and suppliers.

Requirements:
Qualified Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineer.
Experience in the design, development, maintenance and manufacture of special purpose machinery essential.
Experience in explosives essential.
Previous experience in Initiating Systems highly desirable.
Basic understanding of engineering technology selection, development, support and trends.
Must be extremely safety orientated.
Project management experience.
Able to operate very independently.
Excellent English communication skills.
Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
Extensive travel will be required.
