South-East Asia is emerging as one of the growth drivers in the country’s mining sector with Indonesia as the second exporter of coal and nickel in the world. Indonesia has a coal repository equivalent to that of the U.S. Philippines is the fifth richest country in the world with mineral produce of gold, copper and nickel.
The Mining industry plays an important role in the development of Central Asian countries. Kazakhstan’s mining activities make up more than 60% of the mining industry in Central Asia. Other countries with prominent mining production are Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with 58% and 12.4% respectively. Central Asia is working tirelessly to make the mining industry more productive and efficient by introducing new technologies and machinery for exploration and production of minerals.
